Robert gained twenty years of experience in operations, six sigma, financial management, business development, and multi-unit general management responsibility with Starwood Hotels & Resorts. He became Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Key Hospitality Group, a hotel management and hospitality real estate development firm. During Robert’s tenure the company managed and developed several assets in collaboration with Starwood, Hilton, and Intercontinental Hotel Group. Today, Robert serves as Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Untitled Hospitality Group.

2. Success is so dependent on your people. Whats your advice on hiring, managing and retaining people?
- Don’t hire people; select people by their talents.
- To retain people, focus on enhancing their strengths.
- Having esprit de corps, which is defined as: a feeling of pride, fellowship, and common loyalty shared by the members of a particular group.
- Show your people that you value them. The best way to do that is to be totally committed to seeing them become successful.
3. What are some current challenges or industry challenges you see coming?
- The introduction of technology that makes transactions less intimate and human.
- Lack of interest people working in hospitality have for hospitality.
- Getting the next generation of young people interested in this industry.
4. How do you balance work and life?
- By being present with his family and by being present while he is at work.
- Make the most of the time you have. Its not about the amount of time you have; its about the quality of time.
