Career Challenge or Failure
- Chefs failure (if you can call it a failure) was when open heart surgery set him back in his career.
- The lesson from this story is that in life you’re going to experience set backs, but your set backs are not what define you, its how you bounce back and improve from your set backs that define you.
- After Chef Anthony’s surgery he had a new appreciation for life and the work he does. He is more in the moment now than every before.

1. What advice do you have for funding a restaurant?
- Build a network, and tell people what your dream is.
- Buy your space instead of renting.
- Develop impactful relationship with the people who can help you get to where you want to be.
2. Success is so dependent on your people. Whats your advice on hiring, managing and retaining people.
- Recruiting efforts are more important than ever
- Develop strong relations with the vocation and technical colleges in your community.
- Ask Yourself, “Are we truly a great company to work for?”
- If you’re looking for someone talented, ask the talented people you work with for referrals.
3. What are some current challenges or industry challenges you see coming
- Regulatory restriction of increased wages.
- Bring people together as one professional culture. A culture where every job role is as important as the next.
4. How do you balance work and life?
- Take advantage of every free moment to be present with those you love.
