Impacting Others & Guiding Their DirectionA Seattle native, Anderson received his Bachelor of Arts in Hospitality Business Management from Washington State University and graduated with honors from the Culinary Institute of America in New York with an Associate in Occupational Studies in Culinary. All together, Anderson brings nearly 30 years’ experience in the restaurant business. Today, Anderson serves as vice president of operations for Consolidated Restaurants, Inc., which owns and operates The Metropolitan Grill, Elliott’s Oyster House, Steamer’s Seafood Cafes, Quincy’s Chargrilled Burgers, and The Wing Dome.

Not balance work and life well. You need to make time for family. The best way to make time for family, is to schedule it.

1. What advice do you have for funding a restaurant?

Find good people to work with and do your homework. Getting investors isn’t easy, and you don’t get too many shots. Don’t mess it up.

2. Success is so dependent on your people. What is your advice on hiring, managing and retaining people?

Hire for attitude and trust your gut. Do your homework by checking their references.

3. What are some current challenges or industry challenges you see coming?

Dealing with political mandates.  One in particular is the the rise in minimum wage. Anderson, believes a surplus charge is the best model for his restaurant group.
